| "LongService.com, the most sophisticated
long service scheme on the web, is the easy way
to deal with your company's long service awards.
Allow your staff to choose from a carefully selected
range of quality gifts which are then delivered
to your door ready for presentation." |

Produced for LongService.com Ltd, we have been responsible
for the creation of this site since its inception - dealing
with all aspects such as navigation, security and database
development. Some layout ideas, most copy and most of the
graphics come from in-house resources.
The
basic idea behind the site is shown in the quote in the panel
above. The site's customers are large companies with a growing
and loyal workforce who deserve to be acknowledged for their
loyalty. Eligible staff are entered in to the LongService.com
system and given a login "Reward Card" showing their
login username and password. They then login to the site and
can choose a reward gift by simply browsing and clicking.
Their gift is then despatched from the LongService.com warehouses.
Different
bands allow different levels of long service to be recognised,
e.g. 3 years, 5 years, 10 years etc. The choice of gifts is
largely up to administration staff at the companies themselves
- typically human resources staff.
The
administration staff have more powerful logins that allow
them to see what gifts have been chosen by their staff as
well as other information relating to their employees, the
options they have chosen for their scheme and online invoices.
They can also look ahead to a forecast of approaching anniversaries
(and therefore can easily run a cost forecast). Other administrator
options include uploading leavers and joiners, viewing the
bands of gifts available to their employees, viewing information
to help them fill in P11D forms for each employee and viewing
feedback from the employees who have used the system.

A master administration system allows the whole site to be
controlled in-house by LongService.com Ltd. This allows
staff to change gifts in company bands and carry out invoicing
tasks, as well as a number of other administration functions
like adding new employees, gift despatch control areas and
supplier administration pages. There is also a large contact
management system allowing sales staff to keep in touch with
potential clients, a diary system, a mailshot area and many
other functions.
Amongst
the many features of the site for users is a questionnaire
which allows users to send feedback about how easy it is to
use, etc. Consistently good results are obtained in questions
relating to the site's design - i.e. the ease of use and layout.
LongService.com is a growing and successful site, with clients
such as Taylor Woodrow, FedEx, Gerrard, The Dorchester Hotel
and Dialog (part of The Thomson Corporation).
In
July 2003 Pfizer signed LongService.com to be their long service
reward supplier. Pfizer is the world's largest research based
pharmaceutical company - with 120,000 employees world-wide
- and sells household brands such as Viagra, Sudafed, Benylin,
Calpol and Plax in 150 countries.
