This national supplier of business and corporate gifts had an existing Access database of hundreds of gifts. Information stored about each product included cost information, a description, sizes and personalisation information. Our task was to present this information on the web in an attractive and informative manner.

Using ASP we created an online catalogue. The catalogue is searchable by a number of criteria and there are normally a number of views available of each product - the system automatically checks for the existance of these image files and offers them to the visitor. A product details page (shown top right) shows full information about each product and from there users can select from a number of features such as "email details of this product to a friend" and a "quote me" system enabling visitors to request a detailed personalisation quote.

A number of administration functions are incorporated in the system including a log of searches made on the system.

The whole site was coded to enable search engines such as Google to harvest each product page. This technique has been successful and is resulting in a large number of visits from potential clients using search engines.

The responsibility for running the site has now been moved elsewhere and the layout has changed. The underlying database is unchanged.
